General FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about our honey, hives, services, and how Biggie Bee Farm supports healthy pollinators and communities across Louisiana.
Honey & Products
+ Is your honey raw and unfiltered?
Yes. Our honey is raw, minimally strained, and never heat-pasteurized.
That means flavor that reflects our local blooms plus natural enzymes, pollens, and
character intact.
+ Why does my honey crystallize?
Crystallization is natural and a sign of real honey. Different floral sources crystallize
at different speeds. To soften, place the jar in a warm water bath and stir gently — avoid
microwaving to preserve quality.
+ Do you add flavors or use pesticides?
No added syrups, fillers, or artificial flavors.
We maintain our apiaries in environments that is pesticide and chemical free. We prioritize health of native plants and diverse forage.
Any infused honeys are made with real ingredients, clearly labeled.
+ Can we order custom or bulk honey jars?
Yes. We offer custom labels and bulk orders for weddings, events, corporate gifting,
and local businesses. Send us your quantity, date, and logo and we’ll put together options.
Beekeeping & Farm
+ Where are your hives located?
Our home apiary is based near Port Allen, with additional hives placed on partner
properties across Southeast Louisiana as part of our local pollinator corridor.
+ Can we visit Biggie Bee Farm?
We’re a working apiary, so visits are by appointment or scheduled events only.
Follow our announcements or contact us to inquire about tours, workshops, or school visits.
+ Do you offer hive setup or consulting for homeowners?
In select areas, yes. We can advise on hive placement, responsible management,
and connecting your backyard to local forage and pollinator-friendly planting.
Reach out with your location and goals to check availability.
Bee Removal & Safety
+ Do you remove unwanted bee colonies?
We focus on humane live removals when possible, relocating honeybee
colonies into managed hives. Share photos and details of the location and we’ll confirm
if it’s a fit or help direct you.
+ Are honeybees dangerous to our family or pets?
Healthy honeybees are generally gentle and interested in flowers, not people.
They sting defensively if their hive is threatened.
We place hives thoughtfully and provide guidance so families, staff, and bees coexist safely.
Sustainability & Community
+ How does buying your honey support pollinators?
Every purchase helps us maintain hives, expand local forage, support ethical removals,
and grow the Louisiana Pollinator Corridor. You’re directly backing
local bees, local blooms, and local families.
+ Do you work with schools or community groups?
Yes. We love partnering on pollinator gardens, STEM lessons, and community events.
Contact us with your idea or location and we’ll explore what’s possible.
+ How can I make my yard more pollinator-friendly?
Plant a mix of native flowers, trees, and herbs that bloom across seasons,
avoid harsh pesticides, leave some wild corners, and provide clean water.
Our site includes Louisiana-focused planting guides to help you start.
